Post by Stewart VernonWhat I do find odd... is that it doesn't come up on the show more
often of why he works as a police officer if he has way more money
in the bank somewhere than he makes in his job.
He isn't the first cop to do that. Nick Knight was very rich
on the show Forever Knight. (Granted being a vamprire since
1228 helped, Also Fontana on L&O:TMS is very rich.)
Maybe Kevin is a vampire... no, we've seen him outside during the
day... could be a werewolf though... have we seen him during a
full moon?
Post by HuskyPost by Stewart VernonIt *seems* as if neither his wife nor his family-in-law knows how
much money he actually has nor where it comes from.
He did try to get Lucy to understand, Lucy didn't want to understand.
True... but we the viewers don't know either :) In the scheme of
good writing... it is considered cheating for the writer to
withhold information important to the plot... but some writers do
it anyway, keeping stuff secret and pulling out surprise fixes in
the end.
Since we don't know where the money came from nor how much he
has... there is the opportunity for a lazy writer to pull out
almost any plotline by having Kevin pay for something... like
buying the house on the spot as a surprise gift. Who knows what
else he could buy to fix a given situation... and by "fix" I don't
mean anything wrong or crooked on his part... maybe he could
afford to buy the Camden's house too, like Chandler offered to do
for them last season...
Also... while I'm not wanting to bash Kevin... I remember him
saying he worked as a police officer because he wanted to, and not
because he needed to for the money... Now, that's one thing to do
when you are single... but married, now with a new baby, and
wanting to have lots of kids... IF we knew how rich he really was,
at what point would we start to think maybe he is being selfish
and risking a lot to work as a police, since he could get shot in
the line of duty and leave his family without a husband/father...
when he doesn't need to work that job.
Just a thought.
